Whitson Dawson Youth Business Scholarship

At Whitson Dawson, we believe in supporting the next generation of bright minds.

We want to help young students achieve their dreams – we’re looking for students who have a passion for business, finance and accounting. Our scholarship looks to provide financial help to these students when they begin their studies, so that they can truly excel on their journey.

When can you apply?

This scholarship will be available to apply for from October 2014. Contact the Student Participation and Wellbeing Centre at CQUniversity on 07 4930 9456 or email scholarships@cqu.edu.au for further information.

Who can apply?

You must:

  • be in receipt of a Centrelink benefit or can demonstrate low personal/family income
  • be a first year Undergraduate CQUniversity student
  • be enrolled to study as an undergraduate Accounting or a degree within the associated Business or Financial Planning disciplines at CQUni (Full or Part-Time)
  • be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or holder of an Australian Permanent Visa
Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on their ability to demonstrate the difference the scholarship would make to their studies Preference will be given to students who demonstrate genuine need such as:

  • students not living in close proximity to a CQUniversity campus
  • students residing independently (i.e. not living at home with their parents) in the Mackay or Greater Region
  • students with significant carer/family responsibilities
What are the benefits?

We understand that the additional and often surprising costs incurred during your first year of study can be overwhelming. Text books, internet connection and travel costs can make study stressful for new students. The successful recipients will receive $1,000 in the 1st year of their degree to help support their undergraduate studies.
